A Vicky Review – Predator’s Kiss by Rosanna Leo (4 Stars)

Posted in Uncategorized / 0 Comments

Bear shifter Ryland Snow just wants peace. The peace and quiet afforded him at his woodsy retreat, the Ursa Fishing Lodge. As owner of the lodge, Ryland enjoys the tranquil life he’s created among his fellow shifters. He lives to maintain a safe haven for them, away from meddlesome human eyes.
When his rock star brother arrives, bringing trouble in the form of a possible hitman, Ryland is incensed. He’s been cleaning up Soren’s messes as long as he can remember, and is tired of his brother’s lecherous exploits.
Things go from bad to worse when Lia Goodblood stumbles upon Ryland and his lodge. Yes, the reclusive erotica author is easy on the eyes, but the human woman is more trouble than she’s worth. To say nothing of her bizarre fear of furry creatures.
Ryland determines to rid himself of her presence. But when he learns she’s on the run from a crazed fan, Ryland’s protective bear instincts flare. And the bear won’t be denied

FTC: We were provided with the review copy for an honest review. We have no relationship with the author.
Ryland is a very ornery person – he matched his shifter character perfectly. He was very protective of Lia even when he didn’t realise why. In his own way he was very sweet if not awkward but Lia seemed to bring a different side out of him, a softer more caring side – although it was a side that had always been there as he was a mentor to the young bears.
Lia was a little bit too meek and mild to start with – jumping at all the small forest creatures, she just needed to grow a back bone but I could also understand that she was scared of her stalker, especially as the police wouldn’t take the threat seriously. As the story continued though, I realised that she was a lot stronger that I first thought.
The relationship between Ryland and his brother Soren was interesting and I think as the series proceeds he may become a more permanent fixture in Ryland’s life as they seemed to mend some bridges.
I liked the fact that there was more than one expected threat throughout the story and also appreciated the twist at the end as it was totally unexpected.
Predators Kiss is an entertaining read and a good start to the Gemini Island series – it’s got bears so what’s not to love!
