Dark Queen by Faith Hunter Tour : Release Day Review & Excerpt

Dark Queen by Faith Hunter Tour : Release Day Review & Excerpt

Jane Yellowrock used to hunt vampires, but now she must fight–and win–beside them. As Enforcer to the vampire Master of the City of New Orleans, Jane Yellowrock stakes her reputation and her life on keeping her territory safe. But Leo has been issued a blood challenge by the emperor of the European vampires, who seeks to usurp all of his power and possessions. If Leo loses the match to the death, the city will be forfeit, and the people of New Orleans will suffer the consequences. Jane can’t let that happen. Preparing for the duel requires all of Jane’s focus, but with so much supernatural power in play, nothing goes according to plan. She has to rely on herself and the very few people she knows she can trust to stand and fight. Only two things are guaranteed: nothing is sacred, and no one is safe. Guest Post : Maggie Chase introduces her Jeweled Ladies with an interview & excerpt.

Guest Post : Maggie Chase introduces her Jeweled Ladies with an interview & excerpt.

Today, I am lucky enough to have an interview with the lovely Maggie Chase. A historical romance writer, Maggie is here today to chat with us about her views on the romance genre and tell us about her Jeweled Ladies romance series. If you scroll right down to the bottom, there is also a lovely sensual excerpt from the latest in the series His Diamond.  Enjoy readers… I did! 🙂 ******************************************************* Why do you write Romance? Oh, because I love a happy ending! These days, the world feels pretty grim and it’s hard for me to even go online without having to battle panic and anxiety. I think it’s been a real problem for a lot of authors and the answer is to find our happy place—and my happy place is a world where I pull all the strings. I don’t write utopias or perfection—there’s still plenty of bad times and hard times in the post-Civil War world. But it’s making sure my characters get to that happily-ever-after, where they’re… Keep Reading »

Author GuestPost : Dee Tenorio answers some “Wanted” Questions…

Today, I am happy to be part of the Dee Tenorio Wanted tour. I only get involved in external tours of books I recommend and I really enjoyed this one. I love Dee’s answer for why she loves Friends-to-Lovers Romance as it sums up why I love them too (but she definitely puts it into words better!) Enjoy Ladies and Gents ….   Some secrets are worth dying for… Undersheriff and former Marine Rick Trelane had one constant his entire life—his friendship with Whitney Peterson. Through thick and thin, she has never faltered. Never blamed. But when her former lover turns up dead, Rick must look past the walls he’s built to the woman he thought he knew inside and out…and discover he was wrong. Whitney has secrets, deadly ones. The deeper he digs, the more he sees her as a woman he desires. And suspects. But as bodies start turning up, so does the evidence against her. Now the air is thick with secrets and shadows and giving… Keep Reading »

GuestPost : Writing a Reformed Player Hero by Tessa Bailey

GuestPost : Writing a Reformed Player Hero by Tessa Bailey

I don’t think I’ve ever written a hero who was inexperienced with women and I’ve only realized it now. There is something sexy about a capable man who has no trouble enticing women into bed, but a reformed player is a whole new, emotionally-complicated ballgame. I’ve written two and they are, hands-down, my favorite heroes to write. Daniel Chase from OFFICER OFF LIMITS was my first and he certainly made an impression on me. I spent a long time after I wrote him chomping at the bit to write another player and finally got my chance with Oliver Preston from EXPOSED BY FATE. He’s basically Daniel Chase on steroids with a whole slew of insecurities swimming ten thousand leagues underneath a seriously confident surface. When we first meet Oliver, he’s getting ready to bring a girl home. Yet another girl who might inspire the obligatory sexual desire and not much else. But when he sees his sister’s best friend across the club with another man, for the first time in… Keep Reading »

Author Post : Sarah M.Anderson interviews female bullrider Kara Vasquez and offers an eBook giveaway

My latest book, Rodeo Dreams, follows the story of June Spotted Elk, a young woman who’s trying to break into professional bull riding. And what better way to talk about women in bull riding than to ask a female bull rider about her job? I’m thrilled today to introduce Kara Vasquez, an up-and-coming bull rider! She’s got some amazing stories to tell about being a professional bull rider. Take it away, Kara! SMA: When did you start riding? KV: I actually started riding bulls when I was very little. My grandpa lived in Tennessee and had a ranch I would go to every summer for half the summer. There were always rodeos going on. One day he took me with him. I was only 3 years old at the time. I remember him telling me I’ll see him do something very dangerous but something that everyone loves watching him do. I didn’t really know what he meant so I just nodded and smiled at him. I watched him ride the… Keep Reading »

Release Day Guest Post : Tibby Armstrong won’t blame her characters for the BDSM in (what could be) the last in the Hollywood Series! (Incl.Giveaway)

Release Day Guest Post : Tibby Armstrong won’t blame her characters for the BDSM in (what could be) the last in the Hollywood Series! (Incl.Giveaway)

I’ll tell you a secret. Authors like to pretend their characters are in charge of their stories. We enjoy the fiction that our creations possess us, run away with us, make us say and do things on the page the would bring a scarlet blush to our cheeks if we had been responsible for the story. This excuse is really a not-so-new twist on “the devil made me do it.” In fact, I’d like you to believe this about my newest book, Numbers Game. Two devils named Aaron Blake and Greg Falkner, definitely, certainly, without a doubt, made me write it. *cue crickets* You’re not buying it? Yeah. Me either. The problem is? I think I knew what I was doing all along. You see. I wrote a story that I’d been trying to poke a stick at ever since I began writing the Hollywood series and No Apologies. I knew what and who these characters were the first time Aaron had Greg on his knees looking up at him against the backdrop… Keep Reading »
