LGBT event Day 13 : Joann Lee interviews her character from Broken Star (incl. Giveaway)

Posted in Uncategorized / 6 Comments

Today, a character from Joann Lee’s debut novel, Broken Star, has agreed to be present for a brief interview. It seems she loves to talk about herself, so, obtaining the interview was not that hard to do.

Hello, Lynn, I’m glad you decided to join me today for this interview. This month Scorching Book Reviews is hosting an LGBT Event. Your author has decided you would be the perfect candidate. Why do you think she picked you?

“Why?” Lynn rolled her eyes, as if the answer was the most obvious answer in the entire world. “Well I’m sure she picked me because I am perfect.” A smug grin danced onto her cherry red lips. “She also knows I have an unpredictable personality.”

Would you care to tell us more about your personality?

Lynn leaned forward, her freckled cleavage teetering on the edge of toppling from the confines of her sapphire dress. “I’m one of the hottest musicians on the planet. I can see why though. I mean look at me.” She gestured down at herself, shifting until her stiletto heels touched the floor with a click. “Do you want to know a secret though? I love the fame, but I’ve found there is something I love even more.”

Oh, do tell us about your newfound love!

A broad grin curved onto Lynn’s lips as she sighed. “I met this police officer after one of my concerts in Florida. She’s…,” Lynn shifted again, tugging at the corners of her dress. “She’s soooo hot! I mean I’m seriously hot. A woman in uniform is a sure fire way to drive me wild. The first time I saw her on the beach I thought I would have an orgasm right then and there! I was exhausted after my grueling tour, but that woman made my mind turn to mush.”

It sounds like she’s pretty special. Why don’t you tell us more about her?

“Alexis is special.” Lynn smiled. “She has a daughter, too. Calista is an adorable little girl, a carbon copy of her mom. I’ve always had a soft spot for children. Don’t tell anyone though.” Leaning forward again, she beamed. “I’m madly in love with them both.”

I can tell. You haven’t stopped smiling since you walked through that door. Can you tell us a little about your background?

“I don’t like talking about my past. It wasn’t the greatest. You’ll find out a little about my past in Broken Star. I’ve kept a secret hidden since I was a child. I’m shocked it never leaked to the tabloids. My author is also nearly finished with the sequel, so be on the look for, Unbreakable. In Unbreakable, I won’t spoil it too much, but trust me you’ll learn more about my past than I ever wanted people to know. I feel so embarrassed now!” Lynn blushed as she shifted in her seat and looked back up with a slow smile.

From the outside looking in, Lynn Feoras seemingly has everything a woman could desire. With numerous platinum selling CDs, lavish homes, and the ability to bring down the house with her powerful vocals, who could want for more?

Lynn.

Alexis Donatella is a jaded SVU officer who has no tolerance for the rich and famous. She has devoted her life to raising her daughter and to the Florida division of the Special Victims Unit. Venturing into a relationship is the furthest thing from her mind.

When Alexis and Lynn meet on the sandy beaches, sparks do not exactly fly, at least not for Alexis. When you add in a rambunctious child, a tragic secret from Lynn’s past, and obstacles no one could have foreseen, it makes for one frenzied summer.

In the midst of madness, is it possible for these two women to find love?

Oh now, don’t be embarrassed. Why don’t we tackle some fun questions? If your life were a song, what song would it be?

“Oh gosh,” Lynn tilted her head, considering the question. “One song that I can relate to is My Life. It’s the song with 50 Cent, Eminem, and Adam Levine. It feels like my life story!” She laughed as she picked up the glass of wine, sipping from it with a grin.

Good choice, now for another. If you were life were a movie, what would be the title?

“Welcome to my crazy life,” Lynn burst out laughing. “Seriously, I think the title would be Rocky Roads. For one thing, I love Rocky Road ice cream,” she grinned. “Another, my life has been full of so many ups and downs. Sometimes it’s as if I don’t even know where I’m going or what I’m doing. It’s overwhelming. Just when I was at the point of throwing in the towel and giving up, Alexis came into my life. I’m sure our life together won’t be easy, but it will be worth it.”

I have one final question for you. If you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what would you spend your final day doing?

“Wow,” Lynn swallowed roughly. “Well I would like to spend some time with Calista, Alexis’s little girl. Most of all,” she leaned forward with a grin. “I would make sure I gave Alexis a night to remember. I would want to spend the entire night showing her just what I was capable of in the bedroom.” Lynn smirked. “And I’m good. I’m really good.”

Well… On that note, it’s been great having you here today Lynn. Thank you for agreeing to speak with me.

“Oh thank you for having me. This has actually been kind of fun. It’s not often I get asked questions such as that.” Lynn leaned forward, shaking the interviewers hand with a smile.
