So, I’m baackk (again!)

Afternoon followers… yes, I’m back (again!). How are you all doing??

It’s been nearly a year since my last post.. have you missed me? 🙂 A lot has happened over the last 12 months but one thing has not changed; I’m still a hopeless romantic who loves reading. Especially dirty books.

That being said, the reason I fell out of love with the blog was that it became another job to do after the paying job finished and that just didn’t work for me. This time round, things have to be different.

There will still be reviews, events (yes, the sex scene one again….) and blog hops because, quite frankly, that’s what I like to do.

So, how is it going to be different I hear you ask? Well, a few ways….

  1. I will be doing shorter reviews and I won’t be holding myself to any schedule. That means I won’t be taking any review requests.
  2. I’ll be reviewing whatever takes my fancy. That means this will be a lot of older books alongside the newer ones because I have a lot of old books to review.
  3. I will be sticking with my features (Top Picks, Hot Cover Monday etc) but that will be the only post on that day.
  4. I’ll be looking to get guest reviewers and authors to do posts occasionally as, quite simply, I won’t be able to post everyday.
  5. I will be a sporadic poster. Some weeks, I won’t have a lot of time to blog and some I will but I won’t be beating myself up about what I can and can’t do.

There will be other changes but I’m just going with the flow for now.

It’s great to be back!!! 🙂

I so get the “feels like a job” vibe. Kind of why I quit reviewing for blog sites. The dead lines were taking all the fun out of reading for me. So, like you, I read what I want when I want. You wouldn’t believe some of the stuff I dug out of my archives “waiting to be read.” Some really good and some – not so much. But it’s fun again. 😀 And yeah! When I do post a review – mostly on Goodreads just to track how much I am reading – it is much shorter. I am so much more relaxed and happy. So, good for you! Glad you are back and having fun again! Thank you!

    • Thank you!! I can’t wait to read some of these books … I have nearly 300 books on my TR pile which I want to read before buying/requesting new ones. I won’t last (too many new shiny books from auto-buy authors) but I shall give it a shot 🙂

  2. Absolutely glad that you are back and in all the right ways! We follow you for you, and not to follow some schedule. I think you should run your blog your way. Otherwise, what’s the point? If people want the same old, same old, let them follow somebody else. Looking forward to reviews of older books too, because I’m so far behind, and late to the genre itself, they’ll all be new to me anyway. I’ve got a lot of paperbacks on my TBR shelf and a Kindle full of freebies, so a little help in what to read next will be welcome, even if it’s something published years ago. Welcome back!

    • Thank you!! I think I need to review some of the older books as I have a tonne of books that are by authors I’ve never given a chance! I’m like you … I keep looking at my TR pile and thinking “where do I even start?!” 🙂

  3. Welcome back! All the best with your new plan. You shouldn’t ever feel like it’s a hassle, so I hope it’s more about the fun and connections this time around.

    • Thanks!! That’s what I’m going for. I found it so hard to connect last time because all of my focus was on reviewing … it’s hard to be part of a community when that is the priority 🙂
