Top Five Post : My Favorite Top Five Only-Nice-To-Their-Heroines-Heroes

Posted in Uncategorized / 0 Comments

This is a new type of post and who knows how long it will last. Today is the start of the “Top Five” posts and I chose to start with my Top Five Only-Nice-To-Their-Heroines-Heroes. Please remember that I haven’t read everything so my list may differ to yours. Any recommendations are always gratefully received 🙂

So, what constitutes a “Only-Nice-To-Their-Heroines-Heroes”? Well, these guys aren’t known for being nice, infact some of them are down-right rude, but they are swoon-worthy for their Heroines. These are the Heroes that I am liable to be batshit crazy about and often have the best lines!  Here is my Top Five.

Number Five
A temporary engagement, a lifetime in the making . . .

After years of fending for herself, Kate Taylor found friendship and acceptance in Spindle Cove—but she never stopped yearning for love. The very last place she’d look for it is in the arms of Corporal Thorne. The militia commander is as stone cold as he is brutally handsome. But when mysterious strangers come searching for Kate, Thorne steps forward as her fiancĂ©. He claims to have only Kate’s safety in mind. So why is there smoldering passion in his kiss?

Long ago, Samuel Thorne devoted his life to guarding Kate’s happiness. He wants what’s best for her, and he knows it’s not marriage to a man like him. To outlast their temporary engagement, he must keep his hands off her tempting body and lock her warm smiles out of his withered heart. It’s the toughest battle of this hardened warrior’s life . . . and the first he seems destined to lose.

This is one of the my favourite books but I can only give Thorne number five on this list as he does show occasional compassion for a dog. In my book, that makes him a little nicer than some of the other candidates on the list. He is a gruff, swoon-worthy man with a protective streak a mile wide when it comes to the lovely Kate. This series is a must read for me.

 Number Four

The world knows her only as Eve…

Though her songs have sold millions she is an enigma, a bewitching mystery. But to former Delta Force operator Harry Bolt, she is an angel whose sultry, smoky voice brought him back to life after the nightmare of Afghanistan. Nothing else matters.

And now a scared, helpless beauty has walked through the door of his San Diego private security firm, running from something secret, something deadly . . . and Harry knows immediately that this is the woman who saved him. He is the last hope for this intoxicating siren without a past—not even in his hottest dreams did he imagine that the lady Eve could be so tempting, so achingly desirable. But though she burns to lose herself in Harry’s powerful arms, Eve is wary of trusting this tough, haunted ex-soldier who promises to protect her. Surrender could mean sweet ecstasy or certain doom. Can she open her heart, even if it means risking her life?
This book blindsided me as I really didn’t know how much I would love it. Harry is a damaged man who is just gruff and grumpy with most people. However, he isn’t such an arse as he helps run an agency that helps women in danger. When he meets Eve…God, I swooned!! He is Alpha, possessive and highly recommended.

Number Three

When struggling waitress Melody Dylan gives a handsome, lonely stranger a simple gift she has no clue her life is about to take a drastic turn.

The stranger ends up being Clay Powers, a famous UFC heavyweight fighter. Clay’s large build and dangerous fists have always intimidated. People in his hometown keep their distance and Clay is fine with that. Everything changes when a new waitress at the local diner buys him a piece of pie on thanksgiving. Touched by the gesture when it’s obvious she can barely afford to survive, her warm smile and lush body churn up powerful feelings that leave Clay wanting more from her than pie.

Melody is running from her past and the small, country town of Garnet is the perfect hiding place. With an ex-husband after her and scars from her abusive marriage etched deep, the last thing she expects is to fall for a man who makes a living with his fists, but she can’t resist Clay or the tender connection they share.

Finding love in the most unlikely of places, the passion is undeniable, but Clay and Melody know their haunted pasts and unpredictable futures leave the odds stacked against them.

Publisher’s Note: This book contains explicit sexual situations, graphic language, and material that some readers may find objectionable: violence.

Yup, Kelly Moon is on my list AGAIN! This time it is with her gruff hero Clay from the first in the battered heart series. This is a man who is nice to NO ONE but will eat the pumpkin pie he hates because he can’t bear to tell his heroine that he can’t stand the present she bought him… swoon 🙂 Also, Clay certainly has a way with words…. *fans*

Number Two

Beth must yield to become aroused, but she’s too scared to give up control. The last thing she wants is a ruthless, powerful Dom. But that’s just what she gets, and exactly what she needs…

A sadistic husband left Beth scarred, inside and out. Only at the Shadowlands BDSM club does she feel like a woman. But her fears limit her to Doms who won’t overwhelm her— the very ones who cannot arouse her. The Master of the Shadowlands gives her an ultimatum: accept the Dom he assigns or lose her membership. The last thing Beth wants is a ruthless, powerful Dom, but that’s just what she gets.

Asked to take on a problem sub, Nolan sees the issue immediately— although truly submissive, the little redhead is too scared to relinquish control and her Doms have let her get away with it. That will change right now.

As Master Nolan takes Beth under command, compelling her submission, she’s terrified, but the experienced Dom brings her pleasure, not pain. His only demand is that she never lie to him. Under his capable hands, her body comes alive, and she begins to heal. As he pushes her limits, she learns to trust…and then to love. And she realizes he is beginning to care for her in return.
But now her cruel husband has found her, and Master Nolan discovers she’s been lying and lying and lying…

Publisher’s Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Anal play/intercourse, BDSM theme and elements (including/not limited to bondage, caning, domination, restraint, paddling, spanking, submission, tethering); exhibitionism, mĂ©nage, violence.
Oh Nolan is my favourite of the Shadowland’s Dom’s. I love that he is a grumpy, war-scarred bastard that can’t be tamed by anyone but he is certainly tamed by Beth. This isn’t an easy tale but my word it is satisfying. You need to read it… and pay attention to the Shibari scenes *swoon*

Number One

Half-human and half-Wyr, Pia Giovanni spent her life keeping a low profile among the Wyrkind and avoiding the continuing conflict between them and their Dark Fae enemies. But after being blackmailed into stealing a coin from the hoard of a dragon, Pia finds herself targeted by one of the most powerful—and passionate—of the Elder Races.

As the most feared and respected of the Wyrkind, Dragos Cuelebre cannot believe someone had the audacity to steal from him, much less succeed. And when he catches the thief, Dragos spares her life, claiming her as his own to further explore the desire they’ve ignited in each other.

Pia knows she must repay Dragos for her trespass, but refuses to become his slave—although she cannot deny wanting him, body and soul.
This could have not gone to anyone other than Dragos; I love him 🙂 He is a grumpy ancient being who is bored with life until a pesky thief steals a penny. The scenes with him and Pia are some of the most swoon-worthy, heart warming ones I’ve read in a while and they keep me rereading this book over and over. This is a must read.
