Top Picks is a weekly meme that we do here at Scorching Book Reviews. In this post we highlight the books that we want to read that are released this week. They are books on our TR pile and only books we are interested in spending money on.

No buy links listed are associate links; we make no money on them.

This weeks Top Picks are…

Status on TR list : Aww, I like Diane Alberts and this one hits SO many trope buttons… on the list 🙂

Alicia Forkes went to a trendy club looking for a way to forget her troubles, and she found that in the arms of the gorgeous man who swept her off of her feet…and into one of the hottest encounters she’d ever had in her life. Awesome sex with a stranger is now something she can check off her bucket list.

Except he isn’t exactly a stranger. He’s the guy who broke her heart when they were teens, an experience she doesn’t plan on repeating.

Prince Leo can’t believe he’s finally found the woman he’s loved for years, and she wants nothing to do with him. When she shows up at his office, she looks anything but princess-like. In fact, she’s cursing him to hell and back. She may not be Cinderella, but he’s determined to prove he’s the prince for her––even if it means letting her go.cooltext1265143614Buy Links : Amazon

Status on TR List :Hell YES I bought this. We all know I suck at finding NA that engages me but if anyone can do it, Lorelei James could. Rough Riders was the series which hooked me into romance, let’s see if this one does the same for the NA genre…

Sierra

Seven years have passed since I fell for Boone West. The brooding bad boy. We were friends, even when I secretly wanted more, but I settled for what he offered. After he left Wyoming—and me—I grew up. Moved on. Or so I believed until he blew back into my life with the scorching force of an Arizona desert wind.

I’m not that innocent sixteen-year-old girl anymore—I’m a businesswoman who swore never to settle again. But this older, wiser, hotter version of Boone unsettles me. How am I supposed to resist his megawatt smile and his built-army-strong body? Especially when he’s inserting himself into every aspect of my life? Now he’s determined to prove he can offer me everything that he couldn’t before—and he’s the only man that can fix the heart that he broke.

Boone

Joining the army? Best decision I ever made. Even though it meant I had to leave her behind. Sierra McKay. The wide-eyed beauty, who saw more in me than I saw in myself. I didn’t dare offer her anything more than friendship, because one kiss, one touch and I wouldn’t have had the guts to go.

I’ve worked hard to become the man I am. I have a career. A purpose. After a chance encounter with the one woman I never forgot—I’m not leaving anything else to chance. Now that I’ve chased her across three states, I’m ready to demonstrate that the passion we couldn’t act on before burns hotter than ever between us. And I’ll use every weapon in my arsenal to show Sierra McKay that she’s always been mine.

Status on TR List :Vicki Lewis Thompson is a guilty pleasure … on the list (and I think this now doubles up as the hot cover post too!! :D)

Hotter when the sun goes down

White-water rafting guide Liam Magee is a cowboy at heart—happy to return to his country roots at Thunder Mountain Ranch for his foster brother’s wedding. And when Hope Caldwell shows up as a guest…well, the occasion just got more interesting. She’s started looking at Liam like he’s one ride she couldn’t possibly resist, so why is she holding back?

Hope can’t keep her eyes (and her sexy thoughts) from the hotness that is Liam. She’ll never let herself believe in love and happy endings—she learned that lesson the hard way—but maybe she can have a little fun while she’s on vacation. After all, there’s only so much trouble one cowboy can cause in a week…especially once the sun sets!
