Logan Screwed Up... Big Time
When things go bump in the night, Logan bumps back. Vampires, demons, succubi-you name it, he's fought it. His job as Paladin angel warrior is to protect humans. Not fall for one.
She Never Believed in Divine Intervention... Until Now
Detective Jessica Waters protects humans too-with her Glock and a good set of handcuffs. She doesn't believe in fate. But if anyone looks like a gift from the gods, it's Logan. And he clearly knows more about her case than he's letting on..
FTC : I requested this from NetGalley because I had read and enjoyed the previous book.
I really liked the first in the series hence why I picked up this book. Unfortunately, this one just missed the mark for me. There is a religious undertone to the series and, even though it was present in the first, in the second I felt like I was being hit over the head with it. There was so many references to God and a higher being, it clouded the PNR aspects. I just couldn’t get through it without rolling my eyes and, at around 30%, I realised that I wasn’t enjoying it and should just put it down.
Would I recommend it to anyone? The world building is quite good and the PNR aspects are fun so yes, I would. If the religious aspects won’t bother you (and you don’t mind fated mates) then give the series a try. Start from book one though …
That sucks. Sorry that you didn’t enjoy this one.
I, too, really liked the first one. I am also not very fond of religious stories, especially when they overshadow the other aspects. I have this one and am going to attempt it. I am hoping that I can get through it. Lol. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. 🙂
You will have to let me know what you think … it may just be my personal bug-bears showing through so I’d love to know if you liked it!
