JUST ONE MORE KISS
There’s no place like home for the holidays. And the Lucky Harbor Bed & Breakfast is bursting with festive lights and good cheer. But for Mia, Christmas is turning out to be anything other than merry and bright. Her recent break-up with her boyfriend Nick has made her return bittersweet. But then a surprise arrives, when Nick follows her to town bearing gifts-and asking for forgiveness.
Nick grew up without a family of his own so he’s overwhelmed by the love that Mia receives from all her relatives, gathered together to celebrate the season. Under their watchful eyes, Nick finds earning back her trust the hardest thing he’s ever had to do. If he succeeds, he will receive the greatest gift of all, Mia’s love for a lifetime.
This is a teeny story at 14,000 but it gave me my Lucky Harbor fix! Mia is the daughter of Tara and Ford (from book two) and she is going back to Lucky Harbor to spend time with the family that she is still getting to know. She had hoped to be going with Nick, but instead she is going back with a broken heart. Of course Nick changes his mind, tails her there and spends the rest of the book earning her back.
I liked this one. It was short, sweet and filled with the humor that I expect from Lucky Harbor novels. I did feel that poor Nick was made out to be a bit of a bad-guy but it drove the novella forwards. I loved them together and must applaud the amount of sexual chemistry that Ms Shalvis managed to build in such a short story.
As it is set 5 years after we first met Mia, there is some developments in the world of the characters from the original trilogy….I loved reading about them all again!
