Three things make billionaire Jim Halcyon's to-do list: women, work...and more women. It's a perfect agenda for a rich shifter who has no problem letting his inner grizzly out to play. From the bright lights of Vegas, to the sophisticated action of New York-he's got the money and the power to do anything he wants.

Anything, except resist the lure of Lady Luck, an ancient copper coin he gambles yearly to possess. Jim is determined to regain control of the pretty penny, and damn if he'll let any bit of eye candy distract him from his goal. Not even the mesmerizing woman in the middle of the casino floor with the shimmering hair and enormous green eyes.

With a life-changing move ahead of her, Lillie's finagled a temporary layover en route to her future. She's got five days to soak in new experiences, and while Vegas is too big and shiny and loud for her shy bear self, she's eager to do this up right. It's the last chance she's got to let her hair down.

Until his challenge begins, Jim is more than willing to oblige Lillie's wish for a final fling. Only Lady Luck has some twists of fate planned for them both...

FTC : It’s from NetGalley. I haven’t been influenced in anyway in writing the review.

Sooo, this cute little novella kicks off my 2015 reviewing and, to be honest, it’s been a long time coming. I read it ages ago but I read it again in preparation for this review and I think I liked it more the second time round …bears people..BEARS!

Lots of you will know that, although I love ‘shifter stories, I am not a fated mates fan. Fated mate story lack a certain amount of romance for me and I think it’s one of the reasons I am so excited about the bear stories by the wonderful Viv Arend … no fated mates for those pesky bears! Means that I can see the H/h fall in love and it is so much more satisfying. This is a story of fun, heat and smooshy stuff and I loved every second of it.

Jim has not had fun in a very long time. A work obsessed man, he finds himself in Vegas for a get together with his old friend but that reason fades into the background when he meets Lillie in the middle of a crowd-influenced freak-out. He’s looking for some strings free sex and she is looking for one-final fling (we don’t know what the “life-changing experience” is but trust me, she’s not cheating on anyone) so it’s kismet. What ensues is a fun filled, sexy fling that was a joy to read about. They were so much fun to read!

Jim is a very smooth, very hot hero. I was expecting grumpy and Alpha and I didn’t get it; I was pleasantly surprised. Lillie was a great heroine too and I loved watching her embrace her fling with gusto and joy (it’s a good job I trust Viv as an author because there was a small part of me that was very much hoping that I could cope with the secret). I loved watching them together as it was clear that they each got something they needed from being together.

I very much enjoy Viv’s furry world’s and this one hit many, many buttons. Her writing is light, pacey and packed with visual detail. These are books that I know I can pick up whenever I like and I will always enjoy them.  Another hit!
