LGBT Event Day 22 : MM author Christa Tomlinson hosts a Character Interview with her Swat boys and a giveaway

Hello everybody. Teresa, your favorite romance blogger, here. For today’s interview, I went on a ride along with Sergeant Logan Pierce and Corporal Clay Foster from The Sergeant. I loved talking to these two men. Sergeant Pierce has this air of cool command while Corporal Foster was surprisingly playful for a cop. I met up with the two members of Houston Police SWAT in the garage while their team is waiting to be picked up. The entire group looks bad-ass in their black gear with weapons just about everywhere. Two men separate from the rest of the pack. They have helmets on but I know immediately who is who. Sergeant Pierce greets me first, then Corporal Foster jumps in. By the time the truck pulls up I’ve met everyone on the team and I’m ready to get started.

Teresa: This is a pretty intimidating truck

Foster: Yep. We want our suspects ready to cry uncle from the moment we pull up.

Pierce: It’s called a Bearcat. It’s an armored vehicle . Provides our team with protection from just about anything we might face out in the field. You’ll be safe in the Bear.

I get into the Bear as Sergeant Pierce calls it. Everyone sits down on the long padded benches that run along the sides of the truck. I sit between Foster and Pierce. I know I won’t have much time so I get right to the point.

Teresa: First things first. How did you two get together?

Foster: Well Sarge here lusted after me for a few years. Then one night he molested me in his car. I gave in because his muscles are bigger than mine.

I look over at Sergeant Pierce just in time to catch the end of an exasperated eye roll. But he smiled at his lover as he gave his version of the story.

Pierce: I admired Corporal Foster. And I only made a move on him after I saw that there was some mutual interest. And now we both really like going for a drive in the rain.

Teresa: You two are adorable. But how do you work together? You can’t exactly flirt with each other while you’re going after criminals.

Foster: I already have some practice restraining myself when at work. I like to play, but when it’s go time I’m focused. I love being on SWAT and I love all of my team mates. I’d never put any of us at risk by not having my head in the game out in the field.

A chorus of I love you too, Clay comes from everyone in the Bear. Somebody calls him sweetums and they all laugh.

Foster: And Sarge here knows a lot about restraint as well.

Foster has a wicked look in his blue eyes and I look over to see if Sergeant Pierce is going to take that one. But he only gives Clay a stern look. Clay doesn’t say anything else but he does grin. I assume from this their BDSM lifestyle is a secret from the rest of their team.

Teresa: What about your department? Are they okay with the two of you being together and working on the same team as well?

Here a hard look comes over Corporal Foster’s face. But before he can say anything, Sergeant Pierce steps in.

Pierce: There might be some things we need to take care of with the brass, but our team accepts us. And that’s all that matters.

Teresa: Alright then. Tell me how each of you got into SWAT?

Foster: I was in the Navy, Special Warfare.

Teresa: Like the Seals?

Foster: Nah. Special Warfare Combatant-Craft Crewman. Not as famous, but just as dangerous. When I got out I knew there was no way I’d be able to breathe working in an office, so I joined the Houston Police Department. And since I’m so amazing at what I do, I made SWAT in no time. I probably set a record for the department.

Foster gives me a cocky grin, but from the way he starts laughing as his teammates tease him I know his bragging is all in good fun.

Teresa: What about you, Sergeant Pierce?

Pierce: I was a Marine. I enjoyed the leadership roles I had in the Corps, so when I became an officer I worked hard and moved up the ranks to become SWAT Sergeant.

Teresa: This is a pretty dangerous job. And from the research I did I know it has a high burn-out rate. Do you plan to stay on SWAT for much longer or will you be considering doing something else?

I feel Corporal Foster tense next to me. I can’t help but wonder if it’s because it’s something they’ve already discussed.

Pierce: I don’t have any plans to work anywhere else on HPD. I belong on SWAT and this is my team.

I notice Foster relaxes, but I don’t mention it. This might not be a topic they want to discuss with all of their team around.

Teresa: Do you two live together?

Foster’s face turns red and he looks to Sergeant Pierce to answer. It’s the first time I’ve really seen him give his Dom a submissive look. It’s adorable the way he looks up at Pierce from beneath his lashes. I don’t have many dominant tendencies, but if someone were to look at me like that I’d definitely want to put my collar on them. I look over at Sergeant Pierce and see him watching Foster. The look in his hazel eyes is stern, direct and ridiculously sexy.

Pierce: We’ve only just started talking about it.

Teresa: Sorry. I hope I didn’t bring up an uncomfortable topic for you two.

Pierce: Not at all.

The driver leans around his seat to say that the ETA is five minutes. Everyone starts checking weapons and securing chin straps on helmets. I catch a flash of silver around Corporal Foster’s neck. I can’t keep from asking to see what I know is his collar.

Teresa: Can I see it?

Foster: It?

I blush, but with a grin, Foster pulls the metal from under his uniform top. I lean in to look at it, but out of respect I don’t touch. I like his collar. It suits him.

Teresa: Very nice.

Foster smiles and tucks it away just at the truck starts to slow. I offer them both handshakes.

Teresa: Thank you both for letting me ride along and learn a little about you and your relationship. Is there anything else you want to tell the readers at our blog?

Foster: Yeah, don’t be as hard-headed as me when you fall in love.

Pierce: Being hard-headed is okay. As long as you come around in the end.

“You’re the only one I want to control. The only one whose submission I want, need, and crave with every part of me, every second of every day.” – Sergeant Logan Pierce

Sergeant Logan Pierce: Head of Houston’s elite SWAT team. He leads his squad with cool efficiency, taking down rough criminals while keeping his team safe. But behind closed doors he sets a darker part of himself free. He’s a Dominant in the world of Bondage and Domination. As a Dom, he’s controlled many submissives, but never had one for his own. That’s because there’s only one man he wants: Corporal Clay Foster.

Corporal Clay Foster: Highly trained SWAT officer. He’s always the first one to face the dangerous situations of their job. Over the years he’d noticed his Sergeant’s secretly admiring glances and suspected his attraction. One night, with one kiss, he’s proven correct. Clay dives headlong into the rough passion of BDSM that Logan introduces him to. He submits to Logan’s control, accepting the sweet shackles that bind him to his Sergeant. But secrets, both his and Logan’s, force him to leave the newfound safety of his Dom’s arms.

Logan refuses to let go of what he’s wanted for so long, Clay as his own, proudly wearing his collar. Clay wants to be his. He knows it and Clay knows it too. Can Logan safely guide Clay through the obstacles that separate them until he can claim his submissive once more?
