Top Picks is a weekly meme that we do here at Scorching Book Reviews. In this post, I highlight the Romance books that I want to read that are released this week. They are books on my TR pile and only books we are interested in spending money on. I feel I have to point out that books in a series are only going to be featured on here if I have started the series ..
I am unsure as to how I feel about this book. It isn’t getting rave reviews but I, like a lot of other readers, am ready for this series to end. I have pre-ordered it as I need to see how it all ends.
It’s lucky number thirteen . . . this is the epic finale for our favourite Grim Reaper and her sinfully sexy son-of-the-devil husband, Reyes.
Charley Davidson, Grim Reaper extraordinaire, is pissed. She’s been kicked off the earthly plane for eternity – which is exactly the amount of time it takes to make a person stark, raving mad. But someone’s looking out for her, and she’s allowed to return after a mere hundred years in exile. Is it too much to hope for that not much has changed? Apparently it is. Bummer.
She’s missed her daughter. She’s missed Reyes. She’s missed Cookie and Garrett and Uncle Bob. But now that she’s back on earth, it’s time to put to rest burning questions that need answers. What happened to her mother? How did she really die? Who killed her? And are cupcakes or coffee the best medicine for a broken heart? It all comes to a head in an epic showdown between good and evil in this final smart and hilarious novel.
It’s Charley’s last adventure, and the one thing we know for sure is that it’s going to be one wild ride . . .
I do like Nadia Lee and this one sounds fun … on the list!
I’m a good girl. I work hard, follow the rules, and only want a future with Mr. Right, complete with a white picket fence, 1.5 children and a dog.
What do I have instead? A “Dear Jane” email from my ex, who CCd it to my best friends and their fiancés. My friends realizing that I’ve never had an orgasm is the cherry on the train-wreck cake of my love life.
So my new plan? Find a nice guy who can give me an orgasm before my best friend’s wedding.
Enter CJ. Not only is he tall, rich and scorching hot, but he’s super smart. He makes me tingle in places I’ve never tingled before. He checks all my boxes but one–commitment. He thinks that’s what you do when you run out of women, which in his universe is NEVER.
But he wants me and won’t take no for an answer. He pops up as best man at my friend’s wedding, at my office, in my home. He’s sending me flowers, chocolates, coffee beans, you name it. Plus he kisses like he invented the action. It’s like he knows all my weaknesses and is launching a siege.
Then my life implodes, and I learn that being good is overrated. Can the wild player handle this former good girl?
I have not read all of the series however, the ones that I have, I have enjoyed. I recommend you read in order!
When the stakes are this high, it’s game on. . . .“Kelly Jamieson is an auto-buy for me.”—New York Times bestselling author Carly Phillips
Cam Brickley and his pro hockey teammates bet on everything: who can win five faceoffs in a row, who can do forty pushups in less than a minute, who can eat a ghost pepper without puking. But when his buddies bet him he can’t date the same woman—like, say, the hot blonde over at the bar—for two months and not fall in love, he’ll take that bet all day. Then he’ll laugh all the way to the hockey arena, where they’ll be washing his jock straps for the rest of the season, because Cam’s never giving up his bachelor lifestyle.
Olivia Lockwood, heiress to the Lockwood Industries fortune, is used to people using her for her money and family connections. When Cam Brickley hits on her in a club, Olivia’s first instinct is to brush him off. But he couldn’t be using her for her money, since he has more than enough of his own. Cam’s gorgeous and built, and it would be no hardship to go out with him . . . besides, he’d be the perfect spokesperson for the children’s charity she works with. Maybe it’s time for her to start using people.
Cam and Olivia are both in it for something. What they don’t know yet is that they’re playing for keeps.
I have never read this author before but this looks so much fun …. On the list.
“You can put that man in a suit, but he’ll never be tame.”
One look at Jericho Forge and I knew the rumors were true. He was a predator, and he had set his sights on me.
I knew better than to bet more than I could afford to lose that night. I knew better than to bet myself. But desperation leads to bad decisions, and I thought there was no way I could lose.
I was wrong.
Now I have no choice but to make a deal with the devil.
Deal with the Devil is the first book of the Forge Trilogy, which will continue in Luck of the Devil and conclude in Heart of the Devil.
