Top Picks is a weekly meme that we do here at Scorching Book Reviews. In this post, I highlight the Romance books that I want to read that are released this week. They are books on my TR pile and only books we are interested in spending money on.
This week’s Top Picks are…
Status on TR list: I love Nana Malone and can’t wait for this one – pre-ordered.
Don’t get in trouble, they said. Don’t cause an incident. Oops.
I might be a newfound prince, but that doesn’t mean I’m ready to say goodbye to my days of freedom. So when my brother, the king, asks me to babysit a diplomat’s daughter, my first thought is to say no… that is until I see her climbing out of a window with her dress tucked into her thong.
She might just be my kind of girl.
I just thought I’d mix business with pleasure…I didn’t plan to lose control of my heart.
I’ve been groomed by my parents to climb the social ladder all my life and I’m done with it. I want nothing from their royal world. Now that I’m finally on my own, I can live where I want, date who I want, do who I want.
The one person I won’t be doing? My new accidental roommate. Oh, he’s gorgeous and mysterious, and cheeky. He’s also friends with the king and a total jackass.
So basically, he’s never gonna get it…famous last words.
Royal Bastard is book one of the Royals Undone duet, set in the same world as Cheeky Royal and Cheeky King, however you do not need to read the Royals Undercover duet to swoon over this naughty new royal.
Status on TR list: I love the cover of this one – so vibrant! Emma Hart makes me laugh – I want to read this one!
You’re ready to leave after a one-night stand, and you’re figuring out how to—shock horror—leave your number and ask him to be your fake boyfriend for your sister’s wedding this weekend.
When he wakes up.
Well, that happened to me. And over coffee and omelets, I found myself a date.
Which was how I ended up arriving at the wedding with a guy I knew nothing about.
I didn’t know his last name, or how we met, or how long we’d been dating. I didn’t know where he grew up, what he’d majored in in college, or how many siblings he had.
I sure as hell didn’t know he was Adam Winters, hotshot hockey player—and not only my father’s favorite player, but my little nephew’s freakin’ idol.
Which means I’m in trouble. Big, big trouble.
My mother is suspicious, my sister is bridezilla on crack, and my grandpa will tell anyone who’ll listen about his time in Amsterdam’s Red Light District.
I have to keep this up for four days, and then Adam and I can return to our regular lives, where we don’t have sex whenever we’re alone and my family aren’t interrogating him over his intentions with me.
At least, that’s the plan.
And we all know what happens to those.
Status on TR list: This is previously published but I didn’t read it and have just read book 3 – I really enjoy this series. Its sexy, fun and inventive – on the list.
Someone ordered the apocalypse, and it’s not who you’d expect.
With the world literally on the brink of annihilation, Invidia, the Sin of Envy, is tasked with finding the renegade Guardian responsible for opening one of the Seven Seals. The good news? Each of the Seven Seals needs to open to trigger Armageddon. The bad news? Two already have, and the mastermind behind the apocalypse remains untold steps ahead.
As a Guardian of the Seals, Roman has never explored the human world. He’s never known the touch of a woman, either, until one seduces him into betraying his duties. Overwhelmed with guilt for succumbing to temptation, Roman sets out to stop the apocalypse, prepared to sacrifice everything for redemption.
He’s not prepared, however, for Invi, who embodies the very definition of forbidden fruit.
When Invi encounters Roman, he’s not what she expects. Aside from being ripped from the pages of her secret fantasies, he’s more victim than villain. And when the other Seals start to open, she has no choice but to team up with the sexy Guardian to find the true culprit. That’s the easy part. The real challenge is keeping her hands to herself.
Status on TR list: Delphine Dryden writes sexy, intelligent books. On the list.
Rules for work conference in Rio:
1)Don’t out yourself as kinky to colleagues.
2)Don’t have a conference hookup…
3)…with your boss.
Katie’s 0 for 3. What could possibly go wrong?
When in Rio is a hot, kinky romance novel with a guaranteed Happily Ever After!
Status on TR list: This series is fab! Holley Trent writes fun, sexy books – on the TR list.
Related to one of the oldest shapeshifter legacies in Maria, Lily Baxter grew up knowing there was a chance she’d find romance among the supernatural. But certainly her idea of romance wasn’t a drunken one-night stand with a Coyote she loves to hate, a Vegas wedding, and soon after, a heartrending miscarriage. She and Lance Aitkenson obviously aren’t meant to be.
But while secretly coordinating their divorce far from the snoops back in town, her new husband gets jumped by man-hating jaguar shifters, and it’s up to her to smooth things over. There’s something stranger than usual about these Jaguars. Not only do they seem to have abilities no other shapeshifters have, but they claim a centuries-old connection to Maria’s resident goddess. They see strong-minded Lily as a kindred spirit, but Lance fears they harbor sinister motives.
Together, he and Lily might be able to unravel the secrets of the mysterious cult and prevent them from disturbing the peace back in Maria, but can they really work cooperatively when they’re so close to calling it quits? Or will they realize that they don’t need an accident as their excuse for sticking together?
Status on TR list: Sierra Cartwright writes hot, sexy BDSM books and I’ve read a TONNE of her books. On the list.
Having spent too many years living a life of deception, former undercover agent Cole Stewart demands one thing from his relationships—complete honesty.
Masked in mystery and draped in decadence, Avery Fisher has the courage to be with a man as dangerous and sexy as him.
Cole would know the seductive and vulnerable Avery no matter how clever her disguise. But he will demand she reveal everything, not just her identity, but her true nature and the need for his dominance.
She will learn Cole is not open to compromise…
