When her latest book gets less than stellar reviews, she asks her best-friend Xander if they can become friends with benefits to get some inspiration. But no one warned Navi that this was a spectacularly bad plan.

At first, Xander rejects the idea, but he soon comes round to it – if he can do it all his way. He knows he is good in bed and he sure as hell wants to give her a good experience.

But good sex with the person who has had your back for the entirety of your adult life is dangerous. Pretty soon you have a choice to make; stop the sex to save the friendship or continue the sex in the hopes that this could be something better than your original relationship. Will they take the risk?

I remember when a Navi Howard release had me checking to make sure my vibrator had fresh batteries. I’m just bored now. Homegirl needs to focus on something else.

This is the first book I read by Rilzy Adams, but it will not be the last. This was a very well written, very hot story that was not in any way limited by its length. In fact, I think it worked perfectly as a novella as I didn’t want to read any pesky subplots; I was too invested in these two.

Navi was an author who knew that she had a problem to fix. Hearing reviews of Xander’s *cough* performances, she knew he was just the man to be her muse. She also trusted him completely; little did she know that all these big feelings could morph with one rather spectacular orgasm. She is a brilliant heroine – smart, sharp, and ambitious.

Xander clearly always had feelings for Navi that were more than friend-feelings, but he wasn’t going to risk their friendship for it; until she asks. Then he goes out of his way to ensure that he gives his best to the challenge at hand, bringing all those pesky feelings to the surface. He is such a loveable hero; protective, caring and very charming.

If you like very hot reads with low stakes conflict, I truly recommend it. I read this on KU, but I have read it so many times, I will buy it.
