FTC : I got this novella from the author for an honest review. I am a fan of the author and have had her on the site many times although this hasn’t influenced my review. The fact that it is about Cowboys may have though 🙂

So, I have come to expect things from Sarah M.Anderson and her work. I expect sweet romances, meaty stories and fabulous characters. I got some of that but this novella is definitely anything but sweet…. this was bloody hot! The books is probably about 50% (no, I’m not exaggerating) well written, dirty, hot sex. I was completely blindsided but I bloody loved it.

I loved the premise of this story.  An internet dating story sounded like much fun (I have single friends…I have heard both good and bad stories about their forays) and the added twist of it being a second-chance dating site made it even more appealing. Mack is a widower who is reluctant to move on because, to him, it feels like a betrayal to his wife. Forced into a date by his worried sons, it turns out he likes the date more than he thought he would which causes a total internal crisis for him. I think I’m a bit of a sadist as I loved angsty Mack; He was so so faithful that he was a little bit swoon-worthy. On the other hand, dirty Mack nearly caused me to spontaneously combust so, overall, an awesome hero!

Karen is a pretty good heroine too. Totally over being treated like an annoyance by previous boyfriends, she is looking for nothing more than fun from her internet dating adventure and fun she found:) I liked the way Karen was written; She was in control of her sexuality and there was no shaming or judgement by the writer for her characters choice to look for fun. I was left to enjoy the chemistry between them and it was great!

For such a short story, there was a lot of back story and a lot of depth. I enjoyed the angst and I left the story hoping to see if they ever get their truck-bed experience 🙂 I want more from this couple… pretty please Sarah *bats eye-lashes*

Overall, this is an amazingly hot story between two people who really need another shot at the romance game. I fricking LOVED it.
