Top Five Post : Vampire heroes in Romance

This is a new type of post and who knows how long it will last. Today is Top Five Vampires in Romance. Please remember that I haven’t read everything so my list may differ to yours. Any recommendations are always gratefully received 🙂

So what do I like in a Vampire Romance? I have no idea. I love Vampire romance, but, when making my list, I realized there is no rhyme or reason to it. These characters all hold a place in my heart but all for very different reasons. Here it is….

Enjoy!

Number Five

Having traveled through the Dance of the Gods to the land of Geall, the circle finds themselves convincing then training the people of Geall to defeat Lilith’s vampire army. The Valley of Silence is a forbidding place for the battle of all battles, but the circle continues to prepare through magic and a few early stakeouts that test their strength individually and as a team.

Moira finds herself playing the roles of warrior and royal, as she follows the tradition of her people and prepares to take the crown before leading them into battle. And if that isn’t enough, she finds her thoughts turning to Cian more often than not.

So what’s a chaste and intelligent young woman to do when given less than a month with the man she loves, who’s not a man, but a vampire? And how will the people of Geall fare against an army of blood-thirsty vampires who have had centuries to prepare?

Third in a trilogy from the #1 New York Times bestselling author

I love Cian. Cian is a grumpy vampire who has lived for centuries and never been truly happy. The chemistry between him and Moira is lovely to read and he really has no idea what to do with her.. my favorite kind of romance.

Number Four

Love was never so scary…

The Night World is all around us – a secret society of vampires, werewolves, witches and creatures of darkness. They’re beautiful – and deadly – and it’s so easy to fall in love…

Three stunning sisters – with a secret.

Mary-Lynette stumbles across it. Three sisters who are vampires on the run from the Night World. But their brother is going to make sure they return to the dark place they came from.

He’s ruthless, he’s gorgeous and he wants to take Mary-Lynette, too…

Hands up, who would have thought I would have a teen book on here?   This book is 17 years old and Ash Redfern is the vampire that I blame for my obsession with the genre after being so dreamy during my teen years. There was no way he wasn’t getting on this list!

Number Three

FORBIDDEN TEMPTATIONS

Serena Kelley is an archaeologist and treasure hunter-and a woman with a secret. Since she was seven, she’s been the keeper of a powerful charm that grants her health and immortality . . . as long as she stays a virgin. But Serena isn’t all that innocent. And when a dangerously handsome stranger brings her to the brink of ecstasy, she wonders if she’s finally met the one man she cannot resist.

FATAL DESIRES

Wraith is a Seminus demon with a death wish. But when an old enemy poisons him, he must find Serena and persuade her to give him the only known antidote in the universe-her charm. Yet, as she begins to surrender to his seductions and Wraith senses the cure is within his grasp, he realizes a horrible truth: He’s falling for the woman whose life he must take in order to save his own.

I love Wraith. Wraith is a dirty, damaged hero who fulfilled all my expectations! I love this series but I think this is my favorite…

Number Two

Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father—the one responsible for ruining her mother’s life. Then she’s captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unholy partnership.

In exchange for finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She’s amazed she doesn’t end up as his dinner—are there actually good vampires? Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn’t have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her newfound status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side . . . and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.

Bones, oh Bones I adore thee. This series is like crack and most of that is down to the characters 🙂

Number One

In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there’s a deadly war raging between vampires and their slayers. And there exists a secret band of brothers like no other – six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Of these, Zsadist is the most terrifying member of the Black Dagger Brotherhood.

A former blood slave, the vampire Zsadist still bears the scars from a past filled with suffering and humiliation. Renowned for his unquenchable fury and sinister deeds, he is a savage feared by humans and vampires alike. Anger is his only companion, and terror is his only passion—until he rescues a beautiful aristocrat from the evil Lessening Society.

Bella is instantly entranced by the seething power Zsadist possesses. But even as their desire for one another begins to overtake them both, Zsadist’s thirst for vengeance against Bella’s tormentors drives him to the brink of madness. Now, Bella must help her lover overcome the wounds of his tortured past, and find a future with her…

How could my leading man be anyone but Zsadist? Grumpy, angsty and oh so blooming sweet…. I have yet to find anyone who could knock him off the top spot!

Have you got any auto-buy Vampire heroes?

  1. Snarky English vamps get me almost any time (*cough*Spike*cough*), so I'm 100% with you on Bones.

And Zsadist. *sigh* What is there to say? I normally don't go in for the really damaged hero, but something about him just hooked me from book 1 of the BDB. Whenever I became frustrated with the series (which I did), he's what kept me reading.

    With such good taste in
