Top Picks of the weeks new books : Romance choices of the week include books from Elizabeth O’Roark, Adriana Locke & Naima Simone

Welcome to Top Picks. This is a weekly post which features books out this week which have caught my eye.

I have decided to split the list into three; On my List, On my Radar and Caught My eye. The first is those I have every intention of reading. On my Radar feautures books that I have marked on a wishlist, possibly as I am awaiting a price drop or am not up to that book in the series. The last are more one’s I know next to nothing about but have caught my eye for some reason. All books are one’s which I would potentially read.

As always, I do my due diligence on all books I put on here. I don’t recommend books from authors who I know have engaged in awful behaviour or have bigotted views – I chose not to give them my money so you won’t find them on here. If I make a mistake and feature an author who has engaged in bad behaviour, tell me in the comments and the book will be removed.

I don’t read NA. I do not read reverse harem. I also do not read Pandemic romance. Those books will not feature here.

Due to issues with prices, I will no longer be posting RRP’s of these books – the prices I post seem to be accurate for a day so I feel it is completely pointless.

I adore this author and this series. On the list.

Keeley: Last January, I drunk-married my nemesis—hot, oversized geek Graham Tate. With no memory of how it came about, there was only one solution: run off before he woke up and pretend it didn’t happen. It would have worked perfectly if I hadn’t wound up pregnant.

Graham is the opposite of everything I want in a man—practical, disciplined, frugal—but living with him until the baby arrives has me wondering if, perhaps, I’ve been wanting the wrong things all along. And if that drunk version of me last January might have been onto something.

Graham: I never planned to have kids, and I certainly wouldn’t have planned on one with Keeley Connolly—a woman who does not believe in savings accounts or personal safety and thinks Lucky Charms is a health food because of the non-marshmallow bits.

A woman who also didn’t think twice about marrying me in Vegas and ditching me hours later.

I can’t wait to put this behind me and return to my careful, chaos-free life in New York. But the more time I spend with Keeley, the more I’m remembering the things that led me to marry her in the first place…and wondering if I can live without them when this ends.

I do enjoy Adriana Locke – on the KU list

She wants forever. He plays it day by day. They’re both wishing for the best in USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke’s charming and sexy hopefully-ever-after romance.

Single mom Palmer Clark will not be sidelined by the new man in town. Sure, the honey-tongued baseball legend is gorgeous, loves puppies, and has charmed his way into the community’s heart, but Palmer craves stability. Nothing about Cole says forever. So why is he so hard to resist?

Cole is swinging through town to visit his parents when he meets the kind of down-to-earth distraction he’s been looking for since retiring from the majors. True, his long-term relationship score is zero. But even though raising his average with Palmer seems impossible, it’s worth a shot.

As promising as the summer nights are, fate turns small-town dreams upside down, and some lessons are learned the hard way. But having faith in love and choosing hope over fear might get Palmer and Cole to the sweet spot they’re looking for.

I don’t think I have read the first in the series but I’ve always enjoyed Jackie Ashenden’s stuff. On the list.

Don’t miss the first book in a new bright, bold, and sexy contemporary romance series from bestselling author Jackie Ashenden, featuring:

  • A grumpy wilderness guide who just wants to be left alone
  • A cheerful jewelry designer determined to get him to open up
  • A breathtaking New Zealand town that inspires second chances
  • An unlikely love that won’t be denied

Brightwater Valley, New Zealand is beautiful, rugged, and home to those who seek adventure. Finn Kelly loves everything about guiding wilderness hikes, except the part where he has to interact with people every day. But when sunny jewelry designer Bethany Grant moves into town and involves herself in every aspect of his life, he wonders what it might be like if he let in some of her light…

I enjoy this series; it’s cute. On the list.

What if the one you shouldn’t touch is the only one you want…

Erik Mann has built a successful tattoo business in Rose Bend…and he might have just ruined it all by hiring his best friend’s sister! Camille is great at her job, though her insistence on changing everything drives him crazy. It’s all the other ways she’s driving him crazy that are the problem. He can’t fire her. He definitely shouldn’t kiss her…

Newly divorced, Camille warily agrees to work for Erik at Forever Ink. But Erik’s more than the surly, bad boy she envisioned and soon she finds herself enjoying life again. Trust is a risk she vowed never to take again, but when love puts its mark on you, there’s no way to deny it.

I mean it looks so cute – and it pulls together so many of my favourite romance things together!

I’m a grump and proud of it. I hate forced cheer, pointless traditions, and the fact that everything in Jingle Bell Junction reminds me of my lonely teen years.

Which is why I decide to steal the town’s ridiculous Christmas tree topper and burn the peg leg—yes, a peg leg. I’ll be doing the town a favor by making Jingle Hell a slightly less embarrassing place to spend the holidays.

Then, sweet, generous, sunshine-y Holly Jo catches me in the act. Holly, whose smile has always melted my icy heart. Even when we were kids.

She ropes me into baking dog treats with her to make amends, when the power goes out and we’re snowed in together for the night.

Add in one roaring fire, an unexpectedly sexy reindeer costume, and some whipped cream, and suddenly my trip to Jingle Hell is turning into Jingle Hell Yeah…

But what happens when one night with this woman isn’t nearly enough?

Contents include a lonely businessman, a happy-go-lucky optimist in a reindeer costume, and all the holiday hijinks. This swoony romance is the first book in a series of interconnected standalones following the billionaire Ratcliffe brothers.

Love Joey Hill – love her Domme’s. On the list.

He’s a biker. She’s a Mistress. They’ve always given one another what they want. But what happens when want moves to need?

Tiger walked away from the volatile outlaw biker world in which he was raised. As an alpha male, he embraces submission under the right woman’s control, his strong will and intimidating demeanor adding to the pleasure and challenge.

Skye has been mute since childhood. As a Mistress, she knows communication goes far beyond words. She enjoys regular sessions with Tiger inside the club, yet when Tiger’s past brings tragedy to him, taking more from him than he was prepared to lose, Skye’s own history of overcoming will be key to bringing him back –and showing them both how much more their relationship could become.

Meet the Mistresses of Thomas Rose Associates. An intimate circle of women who embrace the challenge of domination—inside the bedroom and the board room.

It’s a billionaire romance – of course I’m on it.

He could have any woman he wanted. But for some reason, he wants me…

When billionaire CEO Mack Hart demands I come to his office, I’m convinced it’s because he’s caught me on security camera taking photos of his files when I should have been cleaning.

He’s young and sexy, he has a doctorate in Computer Science Engineering, an IQ of 172, and a bank balance containing nine zeroes. Nine! I can’t remember the last time mine wasn’t in the red. His research is so important that his rival will pay big money for it, and I desperately need some of that cash.

Terrified, I expect to find the police waiting there with handcuffs, ready to whisk me off to prison. Instead, the surprisingly young, gorgeous entrepreneur seems more interested in the piece of paper I accidentally dropped the night before. It contains a poem. A very explicit poem I wrote about my perfect fantasy man. I’m sure he thinks it’s about him, which isn’t surprising considering how accurately he fits the bill.

Mortified, I explain that I write steamy romance, but that it’s just a hobby, and I don’t have much experience in the real world. I wait for him to show me the door. Instead, he asks me to be his date at a party that evening.

He could easily have any woman he wanted. He says he finds me fascinating, but I think he just wants to see whether I can talk as dirty as my poem suggests.

Embarrassed, I try to turn him down. But Mack Hart is a man used to getting his own way.

If I give in and have a one-night stand with him, maybe then I’ll be able to escape and forget how close I came to going to prison.

I’m not agreeing because I want to sleep with the hot young billionaire.

This story contains: profanity that will be offensive to some; over-indulgence of alcohol; descriptions of obscene wealth, power, and beauty; and numerous detailed sensual situations. Just wait till book two…

Contains no cheating, no cliffhangers, just a scorching romance and an HEA 🙂
