- Apoligies for the lack of Top Picks for the last two weeks – technical issues have hindered the blog!!
Top Picks is a weekly meme that we do here at Scorching Book Reviews. In this post, I highlight the Romance books that I want to read that are released this week.
They are all books on my TR pile and only books we are interested in spending money on. I do not ask people to recommed books or highlght releases for author promo.
I feel I have to point out that books in a series are only going to be featured on here if I have started the series. You are not getting book 8 if I haven’t read 1-7 … sorry, that is the way I work!!

I pre-ordered this months ago – I cannot wait. All reviews have been positive and I love Alisha Rai. It is only 99P at the moment.
‘The Right Swipe is everything you want in a Summer read: fun, clever, and so, so sexy’ Popsugar
It’s a perfect match . . . but will it last?
Rhiannon Hunter may have revolutionised romance in the digital world, but in real life she only swipes right on her career – and the occasional hookup. The cynical dating app creator controls her love life with a few key rules:
– Nude pics are by invitation only
– If someone stands you up, block them with extreme prejudice
– Protect your heart
Only there aren’t any rules to govern her attraction to her newest match, former sports star Samson Lima. The sexy and seemingly sweet hunk woos her one magical night… and then disappears.
Rhi thought she’d buried her hurt over Samson ghosting her, until he suddenly surfaces months later, still big, still beautiful – and in league with a business rival. He says he won’t fumble their second chance, but she’s wary. A temporary physical partnership is one thing, but a merger of hearts? Surely that’s too high a risk…

I have pre-ordered this. I have loved a substantial number of Shannon Stacey books and I have heard that this one is back to its best. Light romance at its best.
Best friends. A fake relationship. And only one bed.
New York Times bestselling author Shannon Stacey delivers the feel-good beach read you’ve been waiting for.
Noah Stafford loves his life—his happy, single life. So what if he made up a fake girlfriend to stop his boss’s matchmaking? He kept things close to the truth—Carly really does have long, sexy legs and a killer sense of humor. She just happens to be his best friend. His wicked awesome and completely platonic best friend.
But now his boss is having a destination wedding, and Noah is expected to attend…with Carly, his girlfriend.
Carly Randall has no interest in living out a rom-com plot. But Noah is her best friend, so she agrees to help. Still, once they arrive on Cape Cod, she can’t explain the sudden butterflies she feels when he looks at her that way. Or why she doesn’t mind when Noah’s hands stray a little south of her back.
What happens on the Cape stays on the Cape.
Except not really, not at all, and once their sexy faux-cation is over, Noah and Carly return to a reality where everything’s changed. Going for it would mean risking their friendship…but forgetting how good they were together just isn’t an option.
This book is approximately 27,000 words

I love Stacy Kennedy – she writes hot and sexy romance. I am waiting for reviews on this but it is on the list.
From USA Today bestselling author comes a brand new romantic suspense duet, featuring a brilliant hacker with trust issues bigger than the deep web, a CIA agent who loves a challenge, and enough heat between the two of them to melt your hardware.
Five years ago, hacker Alex McCoy had a hot-as-hell week in Paris with a CIA agent she was teamed up with, before a final night that neither of them would call their finest hour. Now, Alex’s life is spent hunting down classified information behind her screen and working too many hours to count. She’s miles past burnout and has decided to escape to New York City for a much-needed vacation.
CIA Agent Rowan Hawke never thought he’d see Alex again after his “midnight tiptoe” on their last evening together in Paris. But his sister has been abducted and he’s desperate for the help of the best hacker he’s ever met, especially when he finds out she’s in New York. Hoping to use all his previous skills of seduction to get her assistance, Rowan isn’t prepared for the immediate sizzle that springs back to life between them. Lost in the moment, he takes what he wants—Alex’s lush body bending to his will.
But when the lust is sedated between them and he admits he purposely scouted her to help him find his sister, he’ll need more than charm to win over the mistrustful hacker. He’ll need the truth. As the case becomes increasingly dangerous, the stakes ratchet up alongside the heat between Rowan and Alex. But when Alex discovers a link between the killer and the FBI, she must decide if she can trust Rowan to protect her or if he’s the man her heart needs protection from.

I love Cat Sebastian and her work. I am so excited for this book – I have pre-ordered it.
A seductive thief
Lady’s maid Molly Wilkins is done with thieving—and cheating and stabbing and all the rest of it. She’s determined to keep her hands to herself, so she really shouldn’t be tempted to seduce her employer’s prim and proper companion, Alice. But how can she resist when Alice can’t seem to keep her eyes off Molly?
Finds her own heart
For the first time in her life, Alice Stapleton has absolutely nothing to do. The only thing that seems to occupy her thoughts is a lady’s maid with a sharp tongue and a beautiful mouth. Her determination to know Molly’s secrets has her behaving in ways she never imagined as she begins to fall for the impertinent woman.
Has been stolen
When an unwelcome specter from Alice’s past shows up unexpectedly at a house party, Molly volunteers to help the only way she knows how: with a little bit of mischief.

Polyam romance is a new catagory for me however I have enjoyed so many of the books I have read. This author duo are fabulous writers – I am awaiting reviews on this but I have it marked on my Goodreads list to keep a track.
Jack is dating Andrew. Andrew is dating Christian. And polyamory works just fine for all of them.
At least until Andrew wants Jack to be his date to see Christian’s band play at a local bar. Jack’s all for sharing, but having to make nice about other people’s artistic ventures when he’s not involved with them sounds like a recipe for disaster.
Despite his misgivings, Jack wants to be a good boyfriend and finds himself saying yes… to a whole lot more than he bargained for.

I am so behind on this series however I am enjoying it in all it’s over-the-top ridiculousness. On the list.
Robert McClellan was forced to serve as a soldier in a war he didn’t understand. Liberated by McKay-Taggart, he struggles every day to reclaim the life he lost and do right by the men he calls his brothers, The Lost Boys. Only one thing is more important – Ariel Adisa. The gorgeous psychologist has plagued his dreams since the day they met. Even as their mission pushes him to his limits, he can’t stop thinking about taking his shot at finding a life beyond all this with her.
Ariel Adisa is a force to be reckoned with. Her performance in Toronto proved she’s more than just a brilliant mind, but Robert still acts as if she is a wilting flower who needs his protection. Joining him on the mission to Munich should be the perfect opportunity to test their skills and cement their relationship. She and Robert are an excellent match. But when a stunning secret from Robert’s past is revealed, their world is turned upside down and nothing will ever be the same again.
While they chase dark secrets across Europe, Robert and Ariel realize that the only thing worse than not knowing who you are could be discovering who you used to be…
