New Romance Releases

Top Picks is a weekly meme that I do here at Scorching Book Reviews.

In this post, I highlight the Romance books that I want to read that are released this week. I have been lazy of late with not going past Tuesday – that has changed and I now look for books up to Sunday.

They are all books on my TR pile and only books I am interested in spending money on. I do not ask people to recommend books or highlight releases for author promo.

I feel I have to point out that books in a series are only going to be featured on here if I have started the series. I can’t recommend a series at book 14 when I haven’t read the others.

I don’t read NA. I do not read reverse harem. I also do not read Pandemic romance.

I also don’t recommend books from authors who have engaged in awful behaviour or have bigotted views – I chose not to give them my money so you won’t find them on here. If I make a mistake and feature an author who is an awful person, tell me in the comments and the book will be removed.

I have made the decision to add amazon links and links to twitter profiles on this post however they are not affiliant links as I CBA with amazon.

Israel (The Brothers Ali Book 2) by [Celeste Granger]Status on TR List : I have pre-ordered this book. I actually cannot wait to read it – the thought of an Archeologist romance makes me so happy. Oh, I haven’ read this author previously but all the reviews of her other books are fab.

Israel Ali, Director of Acquisitions for Ali International, his family’s business, is two sides to the same coin. He enjoys the perks of being one of the hottest eligible bachelors in the Southwest region, women dying to be on his arm, red carpets, five star everything. Yet, Israel is just as happy on an excursion to unearth buried treasure.

An expected encounter brings the two personalities together on a collision course destined for love. Yet, Cairo has a secret she would much rather keep to herself. Israel is determined to unearth the treasure that lies inside Cairo. She resists his pursuits sending the duo into an emotional entanglement that nearly costs them, real love.

Status on the TR list : All the reviews for this are fabulous. I have added it to the TR pile as I there are so many people I trust stating I should read it.

Jayce Ellis’s sexy, contemporary High Rise series features the bustle of DC and the hustle of love.

After a week filled with nonstop work, André Ellison heads to the club to blow off some steam. One night off is the perfect distraction from the project that’s about to make his career—or tank it completely. A few drinks in and he leaves with a smoking-hot stranger for some scorching, burn-the-sheets-up sex.

Marcus Thompson is going places, so he can’t think of a bigger waste of time than being put on loan to a two-bit firm to prepare some small-time report. The last thing he wants—or needs—is his impeccably dressed, hot-as-hell one-night stand as his boss.

As they work side by side, their attraction grows to a fever pitch, but there will be no kissing, no touching and absolutely no sex until the project is over—if they can wait that long.

And don’t miss Jeremiah, available now from Carina Press!

The Playbook (Hailey Family 2) by [Shae Sanders]

Status on the TR list : I found this quite by accident but enemies to lovers is my cat-nip. The reviews for the first book are great – on the TR list.

Everybody except Asia Montgomery.

She’s known the Hailey family for a long time and she’s had a crush on Basil since puberty. But now? She can’t stand him and the feeling is hella mutual. Except…well, she’s beautiful. Smart. A great mother. But for some reason, every time they’re in the same place at the same time, he says or does something to piss her off. And unlike the groupies and fans he’s used to, Asia isn’t easily impressed. He can’t seem to joke or charm his way into her heart–not that he’s trying to. He really can’t stand her either.

And he can’t stop thinking about her.

Status on the TR list : Never heard of the author before but I am a sucker for a Mythology rewrite… I am in!! I will possibly wait for some reviews 🙂

Stephanie Costas has always had a passion for humanity. As a digital forensics examiner, she fights bad guys from the technical front. When a closed cold case is dug up, she finds herself becoming consumed to set things right. No amount of eighties music or repeated viewings of her favorite movie Dirty Dancing were enough to distract her. She needed a vacation in the worst of ways.

When she set foot in the gorgeous tropical resort in Greece, she had no idea she’d meet a man claiming to be Hades, god of the Underworld. And she certainly had no idea that he was telling the truth. Her Greek vacation was about to become very…interactive.

A Hades/Persephone re-imagining.

**The Contemporary Mythos series will feature a different Greek god in each book re-exploring their myths and combining contemporary romance tropes. Though they will all stand alone, the stories will also intersect for those that read them all.**

Councilman Tucker Glass, a native of Chicago, has set his eyes on the biggest prize, that of Mayor of the city he has loved all of his life. At thirty-nine, his career spans back many years as a City Council member and then most recently, as City Council President. His resume reads like a ratings-topper novel full of accomplishments that make him more than qualified for the job, but what he wants to avoid is the drama that could block his path to the Mayor’s mansion. He’s always been a strait-laced politician, but his personal life could spawn a real-life reality show complete with hair pulling, tongue-lashing and accusatory finger pointing which would all occur in the first episode.

Tucker wasn’t expecting his past to come back to haunt him just as he’d found the woman who was making his life complete. He would do anything to keep her in his life, but is he willing to give up his run for the Mayor’s office to keep that love in-tact?

Nichelle Michaels didn’t know that love could be so right until she met and fell in love with Tucker Glass, a man fourteen years older and wiser than her, but who showed her how a man should treat a woman, and that’s after she spent the past year testing the water between how a man loves and how a woman loves. Now that she knows what she wants, a woman from Tucker’s past could ruin her perfect love.

Tucker and Nichelle are in love, but is he willing to risk his chance at being Mayor because his ex-wife, or the woman he thought was his ex-wife, wants to now be First Lady of Chicago? Was he really ready to tangle with a woman who specialized in drama every day on television as the star on the nation’s number one reality show?

Tucker may be ready for Chicago, but is Chicago ready for the drama that comes along with the popular politician?

Comments are always appreciated :)
