Today, I have the pleasure of hosting Sue Lyndon. I discovered Sue when she requested a review of one of her books a while ago. I enjoyed her BDSM shorts and have read a few now. Today, she is introducing something that is a bit of a touchy subject for some but she writes really well ; domestic discipline.

Here’s what she has to say…

First of all, thanks for having me today on Scorching Book Reviews.  It’s an honor to be a part of the BDSM Appreciation Event.

I write BDSM romance and spanking romances, and I’ve been interested in these kinds of stories ever since I can remember.  A lot of people who are into kink have always known they were a little different.  Even before I knew what it meant to be vanilla, I knew I wasn’t.  I think this is why I hate pretty much every romance movie I’ve ever seen.  Growing up, my friends would ooh and ahh over the latest romantic comedy, and I’d bring my headphones to the movie theatre so I wouldn’t be bored.  Later in life, after I made a few kinky friends, I discovered I wasn’t the only girl who used to make Ken tie Barbie up with yarn when she was naughty.

In my latest release, Dark Without You, it’s the hero, Andy, who’s grown up knowing he wasn’t vanilla.  He’s always had an interest in spanking women, and he’s had a lifelong crush on Alice, the girl from next door with a wild streak.  It’s mentioned in the book that Andy followed Alice around and often threatened her with a spanking when she misbehaved when they were younger.  Later Andy identifies with domestic discipline and realizes this is the kind of relationship he wants to have.  The problem?  Alice is a few years younger than him and not yet eighteen when he realizes this.  So he dates other women, but none of them satisfy his needs.  He has an inexplicable urge to look after Alice and keep her safe.  How can he find happiness with another woman when his thoughts constantly travel back to the little blonde girl from next door?

Andy’s constant threats to spank Alice have affected her in a way Andy never realized.  She’s turned on by the idea, and she’s read enough erotic romance books with spanking themes to know what domestic discipline is.

Here’s an excerpt:

When the bus was in eyesight, Andy shouted, “Race you!” and sprinted ahead. Alice followed clumsily. Three Long Island iced teas had been two too many. Andy, however, had had three beers and seemed as steady as a sober man after a good night’s sleep.

“You know I can’t hold my booze, Andy,” Alice complained breathlessly after she reached the bus.

“I remember well,” he said, moving closer, invading her personal space. “And I hope you’ve behaved yourself in college, Ms. Grove.”

Unbidden thoughts of the various parties Andy had pulled her out of during high school flashed back, along with the memories of his constant threats to take her over his knee. She’d always thought those threats to be empty, but the image caused her cheeks to flush and another tremor of wet heat shot between her thighs. She opened her mouth, but no words came out. She peered up into his smoldering eyes, lost in the conflicted memories of yesterday.

“Alice Grove at a loss for words,” he mused. “Call the newspapers.”

Alice recovered herself and punched his shoulder. “I’m adult now, in case you haven’t noticed.” The memory of Andy’s threats embarrassed her more than ever—and to her confusion, left her pussy aching with need. During her freshman year of college, he’d promised to finally take her over his knee the next time she cursed at him. Would he, really?

“I have noticed.” His eyes darkened, and she squirmed under his penetrating gaze.

  1. Love the sounds of this! And I will admit to the GI Joe's kidnapping the Barbies!

  2. I've read a few of Sue Lyndon's stories, and this one looks great.

I never had Ken tie up Barbie, but when I was a kid, I too, was fascinated with bondage.

  3. Now I know why you don't like romantic movies. Too funny. Congrats on the new book. I too have it in line on my kindle. So many spankings…so little time.

  4. “Growing up, my friends would ooh and ahh over the latest romantic comedy, and I’d bring my headphones to the movie theatre so I wouldn’t be bored.”

Sounds like me! Romantic comedies do nothing for me. I can take some humour in my movies, but there has to be something darker or you’ve lost me!

I thought I had this on my to-read list, but can’t find it. **Off to Goodreads**

  5. I love Andy already. Cant wait to read Dark Without You. Thx for giveaway.

  6. Love the idea that Ken used to tie up Barbie…I too used to steal G I Joe to become Barbie's bf. I mean clearly more masculine (and oh the uniform) *grin* Looking forward to reading it!

  7. Love the thought of Barbie being tied up. Maybe one of these days they will come out with BDSM Barbie & Ken. And of course they will need a Dream Dungeon.

  8. Oh, I'm so not into chick flicks either. I never thought of taking headphones with me when my friends wanted to go to the movies. Good idea! I always wanted the men to be stronger. My friends just never understood! LOL! Love the excerpt! Sue's a new to me author whose books I need to get! Thanks for the giveaway!
