This weeks pick is…..

Even in an age of cutting-edge technology, old beliefs die hard…

Conducting a top secret investigation into the death of a fellow police officer has Lieutenant Eve Dallas treading on dangerous ground. She must put professional ethics personal loyalties. But when a dead body is placed outside her home, Eve takes the warning personally. With her husband, Roarke, watching her every move, Eve is drawn into the most dangerous case of her career. Every step she takes makes her question her own beliefs of right and wrong – and brings her closer to a confrontation with humanity’s most seductive form of evil…

I know, last weeks pick was a JD Robb book (AKA the mighty Nora Roberts) but there is 30 of these books and they are all fabulous. This one combined the spookiness of the supernatural with the unnaturalness of murder.

Roarke and Eve are fantastic, with the development of Roarke’s character being the main hook for me in this tale. I loved the protectiveness that he shows towards her without ever limiting her character and I let out a big swoon when the meaning behind the decoration engraved on her wedding ring is revealed. The murder is full of twists and red-herrings and my respect of Eve’s character grew with every hard question she was forced to ask. I adore this series…. you must read!!
